Courtesy of an ongoing sale on Lenovo's official online US store, the well-equipped Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage is now available with a sizeable 20% discount.
The recently released Yoga Tab Gen 2 is already witnessing a pretty decent discount on Lenovo's official online store in the US. To be more precise, the tablet can be purchased at just under $582, courtesy of a 20% discount.
This specific variant of the tablet comes equipped with a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500s SoC, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of speedy UFS 4.1 storage.
Our in-depth review of the Yoga Tab Gen 2 was largely positive, with very little room for complaint in terms of usability and performance. The Dimensity 9500s SoC performed impressively in synthetic benchmarks, managing almost 7,000 points in Geekbench 7.
In other words, the vast majority of CPU-intensive workloads should be easily doable on the tablet. The healthy 8 GB of memory also helps quite a bit with multitasking. iGPU performance is very decent, although the performance improvement over its predecessor hovered around a modest 8% in synthetic benchmarks.
That said, it is worth noting that the tablet does get rather warm under load resulting in noticeable thermal throttling, more so than some of its competitors.
The Yoga Tab Gen 2's 11.1-inch 144 Hz IPS display features a resolution of 3840 by 2560, resulting in a pixel density of 415 PPI. Our tests revealed impressive color accuracy performance as well as almost complete coverage of the sRGB color gamut.
Full-screen brightness peaked at around 587 nits, which is pretty decent and good enough for most use cases. Sunny days, however, might be a struggle.
As mentioned earlier, the Yoga tablet's 11,000 mAh battery results in an extremely impressive runtime performance, lasting slightly over 24 hours in our Wi-Fi web browsing test.
The Yoga Tab Gen 2 has many upsides, and a few downsides
Other notable features include Wi-Fi 7, expandable storage via a microSD slot, stylus support, as well as a stylish metal chassis that feels plenty premium. The newly released Lenovo tablet also comes with a 2-in-1 keyboard as well as a stylus.
However, a few major downsides also exist, such as the tablet's inability to output display and a rather hefty 480 g (~1 lbs) weight.
All told, folks who require a large tablet with a very high-resolution display and good productivity performance will be plenty pleased with the Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2. As always, interested customers are definitely advised to check out our extensive review of the tablet before making up their minds.
