Uzbekistan will allocate 100 hectares of land in New Tashkent to each district of the capital and each of the country’s 13 regions to attract entrepreneurs from across the country to development projects, the presidential press service reported on October 12.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the initiative during an open discussion with investors and entrepreneurs on accelerating the construction of New Tashkent.
Under the plan, district governors will work with local entrepreneurs to develop projects on the allocated land. Investments made in these areas will be counted toward the investment performance indicators of the relevant region or Tashkent district.
Only entrepreneurs from the respective region or district will be eligible to participate in the first land auction for the allocated territories.
Mirziyoyev emphasized that New Tashkent should become a platform for business opportunities not only for entrepreneurs in the capital but also for those across the country.
The government is also seeking to attract foreign investors to New Tashkent. The first 50 land plots have been identified for this purpose, and ambassadors will receive detailed proposals outlining their locations, potential projects, economic calculations and available incentives.
Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions abroad have been instructed to promote investment opportunities in New Tashkent more actively.
Ministers have also been tasked with presenting these opportunities at meetings with foreign partners and major companies and inviting them to participate in joint projects.
Mirziyoyev stressed that investment proposals should go beyond general offers and provide investors with concrete information on available land plots, financial calculations and project implementation deadlines.
