Little by little, we're discovering more about the Royal family's tastes. We doubt the Princess of Wales will ever start her own Substack of weekly cultural recommendations or that Queen Camilla will segue into posting TikTok vlogs of visits to her favourite restaurants, so the drip feed of information is slow. But we're getting there!
We know, for example, that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis share a love for the classic noughties film, Shrek. And that Prince William is a fan of Batman: The Dark Knight.
But what about their preferences for TV?
Well, we've discovered one key show the family are into... and it's one we're all big fans of, too.
Prince William made a surprise appearance on The Graham Norton Show, in a pre-recorded episode that will air on Friday the 23rd of October. He joined Hannah Waddingham, Cate Blanchett, and Robert Irwin on the sofa specifically to promote his environmental initiative, the Earthshot prize, which will have an awards ceremony in Mumbai next month.

But while he was there, William dropped a gem of information: he, the Princess of Wales, and their three children are just like us... in that they're locked in watching BBC One at 8pm every Thursday and Friday. Yep. The Royal family are fans of The Celebrity Traitors.
Speaking about the show, the Prince said: 'I love it, the family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It's really good telly.'
Quite right! The Royal went on to note that he'd greatly enjoyed watching Ross Kemp's (gone too soon!) paranoia in the early episodes of this series, so much so that he couldn't help but joke around when he bumped into the EastEnders actor. Prince William said: 'I saw Ross Kemp the day after the first episode and I couldn’t help but try – in the most appropriate way – to touch him to see what reaction I got from him. Turns out he was really jumpy!'

Prince William also chatted with Graham about his love of Christopher Nolan films, again mentioning how great the Batman series is: 'I love getting immersed in deep-thinking films. I like action films too, but I like something a bit different. I’m a big fan of everything Christopher Nolan does. His films are fantastic – The Dark Knight series is psychologically dark and deep and I absolutely love that. He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining.'
We'll have to wait until tonight to see what else Prince William shared with the audience, but we do know there was plenty of chat about the Earthshot prize. 'For many years I was hearing stories about environment issues, and one thing that struck me was the negativity and doom, which got me down,' said the Royal. 'I thought we could do something more powerful and more optimistic and the idea of an awards’ ceremony came about and we could talk about urgency and optimism together. It’s all about getting excited.'
