The red hues of sunsets in Cayman are due to a phenomenon called “Rayleigh scattering,” where sunlight travels through a thicker slice of the atmosphere, scattering longer wavelengths. This spectacular sunset was a perfect example as it cast an otherworldly light on Seven Mile Beach outside of the Sundowner condominiums earlier this week.
