His inclusion places him among practitioners seeking recognition through one of the legal profession's distinguished honours.
Kindiki previously served as Interior Cabinet Secretary before becoming Deputy President in October 2024, following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua. He practised law as an advocate, taught law at the University of Nairobi and served on President William Ruto’s defence team at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

What does the Senior Counsel rank mean?
The Senior Counsel designation is a professional distinction in Kenya's legal fraternity, awarded through a formal process to advocates who meet the applicable requirements.
Being included on the list of applicants does not automatically mean an advocate has been awarded the rank. The conferment process determines which candidates ultimately receive the designation.
