The Indiana Fever’s reported plans after making major changes to the front office seem to be centered around Caitlin Clark.
The 2026 WNBA season ended in despair for the Indiana Fever following a first-round exit during the playoffs.
As a result, the Fever ownership has finally pressed the panic button as the organization has gone through a major shake-up during the offseason.
This has led to the departure of GM Amber Cox and team president Kelly Krauskopf. Fans are now obviously wondering what that means for franchise cornerstone star Caitlin Clark.
Gregg Doyel says next Indiana Fever GM expected to work closely with Caitlin Clark
Clark has already played three seasons for the Fever without any major success in the postseason. Keeping that in mind, the Fever reportedly want their next GM to work ‘more closely’ with Clark.
“After front-office purge, the Fever’s next GM will work more closely with Caitlin Clark. … Clark and Tyrese Haliburton are incredibly similar, from their outsized talent to their fire to their home arena.
“Also, they’re similar in this way: The modern professional basketball star – I’m talking not just about the best player on his or her franchise, but the kind of player a franchise might get once in a generation – isn’t looking for a one-way relationship with the front office,” IndyStar’s Gregg Doyel wrote.
He added, “The modern star, whether it’s Haliburton or Luka Doncic or LeBron James – or, yes, Caitlin Clark – wants to be part of the decision-making.”
Doyel believes that Clark has the potential to be what Luka Doncic is to the LA Lakers or how LeBron James has always been involved with front office decisions during his NBA career.
Fever fans have been demanding this treatment for Clark, and after a wait of three years, the fanbase may finally see a roster constructed for the 3x WNBA All-Star to be at her sparkling best.
