By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Cayo Tour Guide Association (CTGA) joined students, educators and tourism professionals for Archaeology Day at the Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve in San Ignacio on Friday, October 16.
The event was organized by the Institute of Archaeology of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH).
Throughout the day, the CTGA welcomed visitors to its booth, sharing information about the association and the important role tour guides play in connecting people with Belize’s archaeology, history, culture and natural heritage.
CTGA members also volunteered their time to guide student groups through Cahal Pech, helping bring the ancient Maya site’s history to life.
The association thanked its members who volunteered and the Institute of Archaeology for the invitation and for creating a space for learning and collaboration.
