KUANTAN: The Pahang Sports Council has denied any involvement in organising or promoting the 'Larian Srikandi 2026' event, scheduled for Nov 7, or handling its registration.
Its director, Mahathir Abdul Raffar, advised the public against clicking links or scanning QR codes on the event poster, which has been circulating on social media.
He said the council was aware of the poster, which claimed the event would be held at the Pahang Sports Complex (Sukpa) in Indera Mahkota.
"The use of the names 'MSP' and 'Sukpa' on the poster does not constitute any endorsement or support from the council.
"The public is advised not to scan the registration QR codes on the poster or provide personal information to avoid falling victim to scams," he said.
Mahathir said the council was concerned that members of the public could fall victim to scams perpetrated by irresponsible parties.
He advised those seeking clarification to contact MSP directly through its official channels.
