Mass General Brigham recently hosted a dinner bringing together Bermuda healthcare leaders, advocates and clinicians with Boston-based specialists to discuss women’s health and strengthen collaboration in patient care.
A spokesperson said, “Boston’s Mass General Brigham hosted a dinner last week bringing together Bermuda healthcare leaders, advocates and clinicians with specialists from Boston for an evening of discussion and celebration.
“The evening, themed ‘Bermuda to Boston: A Dialogue on Women’s Health’, was designed to foster closer ties between Bermuda clinicians and Boston specialists.
“The discussion was led by Dr Nawal Nour, Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mass General Brigham, and Dr Edward Kim, a pelvic floor specialist at Mass General Brigham, and was hosted by ‘Media Maya’ Palacio. Attendees included healthcare advocates, policy decision makers and local physicians.
“The evening’s discussion underscored the importance of collaborative relationships between local physicians and the Boston based hospital group, allowing access to specialty services, particularly surgical and cancer care, while reinforcing continuity, prevention and whole-person care for patients at every age.”
Dr Nawal Nour, Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mass General Brigham, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for local and overseas women’s healthcare experts and advocates to connect, share experiences and celebrate the amazing progress that has been made in our field in recent years.
“We are so pleased to be able to take the time to build on our relationship with Bermuda’s healthcare community and deepen our understanding of their needs. We believe that this helps us support more comprehensive, continuous care for women in Bermuda.”
