Meeting
A meeting regarding the Shillong Peak Ropeway Project, being implemented by the Department of Tourism through the Meghalaya Ropeway Development Authority, will be held on October 22, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the State Convention Centre. The meeting will be co-chaired by the Chief Executive Officer, Meghalaya Ropeway Development Authority, and the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Tourism Department.
Programme
The Department of Fishery Science, St Anthony’s College, Shillong, in collaboration with the Assam-based NGO Social Development Forum (SDF), Golaghat, hosted a programme under the theme of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat: Make in India, Make for the World’, aimed at empowering students as young leaders. Fostering innovation and promoting sustainable economic growth, the initiative aligns with the Government of India’s mission to build a self-reliant nation by harnessing local talent, resources, and entrepreneurship. The programme was attended by over 200 students, including government officials, academicians, and entrepreneurs from across the state. The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and showcasing success stories of individuals and enterprises that have embraced self-reliance as a guiding principle.
