KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians have been advised to consider postponing non-essential travel to France until conditions improve, following ongoing demonstrations across several major cities in the country.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that it is closely monitoring developments, noting that no Malaysians have been reported involved or adversely affected by the situation.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris has issued a safety advisory urging Malaysians currently in France to exercise caution and remain vigilant.
"While travel to France remains unrestricted, Malaysians are advised to consider postponing non-essential travel until the situation improves," the ministry said.
It added that the embassy remains in close contact with local authorities to receive updates and facilitate assistance if needed.
The ministry urged Malaysians residing in France to update their contact details with the embassy.
Malaysians planning to travel to France who have yet to register are encouraged to do so via the ministry's e-Konsular platform at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my.
