President Donald Trump seems to be part of the fabric of Team USA golf.
Trump was on the first tee at Bethpage Black for last year’s Ryder Cup, walking out with Bryson DeChambeau and acknowledging all of the players before they started their rounds.
He was also at the Presidents Cup on Sunday, presenting the trophy to Team USA and receiving credit for the team’s win from captain Brandt Snedeker after the event.
Jacob Bridgeman was a Presidents Cup rookie this year, and he recently spoke at a Trump rally in South Carolina.
What Jacob Bridgeman said at a Donald Trump rally in South Carolina
Bridgeman appeared on stage with President Trump at his home in South Carolina, and thanked him for his appearance at the Presidents Cup where he made his debut.
The 26-year-old said, “Hey South Carolina, it is a great honour to be here with you guys in South Carolina, my home state, where I was born and raised.
“I went to Chapman High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina, I live in Greenville now. I attended the best university in the state.
“I thank the President Donald Trump for having me here. It has been great to get to know him and to have him at the Presidents Cup, watching us having a pretty historic comeback on Sunday.
“And thank you to my captain Brandt Snedeker. He had some good remarks for us after the round and the tournament for our President here.
“I thought I would be here with you guys. I am glad to represent one of the best states in the country. I travel a lot, I travel 25 to 30 weeks a year, and every time I come home it feels like at home and there is no place I would rather be.
“Thank you to everyone who lives in this great state and thank you for making it what it is and thank you to the President for having me.”
Giving credit to the President seems to be a trend that’s developed over the last couple of seasons, so don’t be surprised to see him show up in Ireland for next year’s Ryder Cup.
