By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two Belize City men accused of murdering their 19-year-old friend, Jamir Rudel Cambranes, returned to court on Friday, October 9, but their case was adjourned after prosecutors revealed that the case file was still not ready for disclosure.
Kameron Kareem Heusner, 21, and Kenrick Lindbergh Robinson, 19, appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2, where the prosecution informed the court that the disclosure materials remained unavailable. The matter was subsequently adjourned to October 19, 2026.
Both men are charged with the murder of Cambranes, a Belize City technician whose bullet-riddled body was discovered in bushes along the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road on April 22, 2026.
According to police, Cambranes was last seen alive on April 21, when he reportedly met with individuals known to him before entering a silver Chevrolet Equinox. Investigators say surveillance footage captured the young man entering the vehicle outside Robinson’s residence on Laura Dunn Street before it headed toward Ladyville.
Cambranes reportedly sent his girlfriend a photograph of the vehicle’s license plate shortly before he stopped responding to her calls and messages. Concerned for his safety, she tracked his phone and alerted his relatives, who subsequently discovered his body.
Police later recovered surveillance footage, WhatsApp communications and forensic evidence from the vehicle, including blood samples, which helped investigators identify the suspects.
Robinson was arraigned on April 27, while Heusner was charged two days later and arraigned on April 30. Both were remanded to prison.
Police previously indicated that no clear motive had been established for the killing. Both accused men remain on remand as the case awaits disclosure of the prosecution’s evidence.
