CHANGWON — South Gyeongsang Province launched the third Investment Attraction Advisory Committee, made up of 29 experts in fields including the economy, finance, industry, defense and law. Hwang Kak-kyu, chairman of the Korea Tire Industry Association, was reappointed to lead the committee.
The latest committee expanded the number of hands-on specialists in new industries and the defense and aviation sectors to respond to the realignment of global supply chains and shifts in the investment environment toward advanced industries.
The committee will operate three subcommittees — future growth industries, core industries, and tourism, MICE, policy and trends — and draw up investment attraction strategies for each area.
The Investment Attraction Advisory Committee is an advisory body for corporate investment attraction that was formed when the current provincial governor's administration took office. The province said it plans to strengthen cooperation with the advisers from identifying promising companies through to carrying out investments.
