Pressure is mounting on Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer after a disappointing 23-13 defeat to the Green Bay Packers left fans questioning the team's direction as frustrated supporters urge owner Jerry Jones to consider making a change.
The Cowboys struggled on both sides of the ball at Lambeau Field, falling behind 17-0 by halftime before a late touchdown offered little consolation as the team slumped to another defeat in the 2026 NFL season.

Dak Prescott threw two interceptions and failed to convert two fourth-down opportunities as the veteran quarterback struggled on the night, leaving Dallas unable to capitalize on promising scoring positions.
And now calls for change have grown as Dallas continues to squander winnable opportunities and hurtled towards missing the NFL Playoffs once again, with Prescott's turnovers proving particularly costly as he finished 34-of-54 for 258 yards.
And one frustrated fan suggested Romo could offer a solution, writing on X.com, formerly known as Twitter, “Not gonna lie everything is setting up for Tony Romo to be the cowboys next head coach.”
Another supporter appealed directly to Jones, posting, “Dear Jerry Jones, Give Tony Romo the Offensive Coordinator job and let him call plays from the press box! That’s who needs to be in Dak ears. Nobody else…”
A third fan proposed a broader coaching shake-up, suggesting, “Jerry Jones, Give Mike Tomlin a call, and may Tony Romo as Offensive coordinator… still have a chance with this shitty ass division but these coaches will not get you anywhere.. #DallasCowboys”.
What comes next for the Cowboys?
Romo remains a significant figure in Dallas football history. He spent 13 NFL seasons with the Cowboys after joining as an undrafted free agent in 2003, becoming the franchise's primary starter from 2006 to 2015.
He earned four Pro Bowl selections and established several team passing records before retiring after the 2016 season before switching to broadcasting with CBS, initially beginning with acclaim but ending in controversy.
Romo departed the network after being arrested in July for an OWI incident in Milwaukee, being replaced by J.J. Watt. He accepted full responsibility for the incident and the consequences afterwards.
Whether Jones responds to the growing calls for change remains uncertain as Dallas faces another important test against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 26.
The defeat exposed familiar problems for the Cowboys, who entered the game allowing a league-high 6.4 yards per play and although Dee Winters recorded Dallas' first interception of the season, the defense could not consistently stop Green Bay.
Penalties further disrupted the contest for Dallas as the Packers, meanwhile, extended its winning streak to three games as Jordan Love threw for 276 yards and a touchdown while adding a one-yardrushing score.
