Declan Rice scored a late leveler to hold Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw in Germany and claim a point in their UEFA Champions League match.
The midfielder finished an excellent team move in a match Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane scored Bayern’s second and assisted Alphonse Davies for the first. Eberechi Eze had put the Gunners in the lead.
Arsenal took the lead on 25 minutes when Eze blasted a low volley beyond Manuel Neuer for 1-0, but Davies responded when he latched on to a defence-splitting pass to slot into the net beyond David Raya.
Kane won a second half penalty and blasted it into the top corner to put Vincent Komany’s side ahead for the first time on the night, but Rice had other ideas.
The midfielder wandered onto the wing where an interchange of passes ended with Victor Gyokores laid the ball on a plate for him, and the former West Ham midfielder’s shot sailed beyond Neuer’s legs to claim the point.
Arsenal dropped points in the UCL for the first time this season, ending their run of victory in their last 14 group/league phase matches. It is however a second game Bayern have dropped points, and are on five points from three matches.
In other matches, ten-man Inter Milan needed a winner on 77 minutes to claim their first win of the UCL season, Carlos Augusto with the 77th minute winner.
Real Madrid were impressive in their 4-1 dismantling of RB Liepzig with Bernardo Silva, Arda Guler, Kylian Mbappe, and Yan Diomande all on the scoresheet on a night fans unfurled a banner that aimed a dig at Barcelona’s Negraira case.
