The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will remain open for trading and official activities on Saturday, 17 October, ahead of the Durga Puja holidays.
Trading normally remains closed on Saturdays due to the weekly holiday. However, the bourses have decided to keep their operations open on 17 October following the government's announcement of a public holiday on 22 October for Durga Puja.
Trading and administrative activities at both exchanges will remain suspended for three consecutive days, from 20 to 22 October, in line with the government-declared holiday schedule.
All regular trading and official activities will take place according to the usual schedule on Saturday to adjust for the holiday arrangements, according to the bourses.
Trading and office operations at the exchanges will resume on Sunday, 25 October, after the Puja holidays and the weekly weekend.
