Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has unveiled new cabin crew uniforms designed by renowned Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, popularly known as HSY. The collection was presented in Lahore on Thursday, October 22, 2026. The airline plans to introduce the uniforms on October 31 during its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight from London to Islamabad.

HSY secured the project after a competitive showcase in Karachi. Ten leading Pakistani designers presented their concepts to a jury comprising fashion figures and industry representatives. Yasin, known for his red-carpet creations and international celebrity clientele, was selected to design the new collection for the national flag carrier.
According to PIA, the collection follows a “lifestyle first” philosophy. The designs prioritise comfort, durability and freedom of movement during long-haul flights. They feature soft, breathable fabrics and structured tailoring. Moreover, the colour palette and detailing draw inspiration from Pakistan’s cultural craftsmanship.
The airline said the new uniforms form part of its broader transformation under consortium-led management. The collection aims to give PIA a modern appearance while reflecting Pakistani culture and hospitality. “Designing for our national flag carrier is about capturing our collective pride and the genuine warmth of Pakistani hospitality,” Yasin said in a statement shared by the airline.

PIA has previously worked with internationally recognised designers to shape its cabin crew uniforms. French designer Pierre Cardin created the airline’s A-line tunic and hood in 1966. British designer Sir Hardy Amies contributed his tailoring expertise during the 1970s. More recently, a uniform inspired by Pakistani designer Nomi Ansari remained in use for 12 years. PIA expects passengers to see the latest designs in service later this month.
