The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Coronation Street dated October 25. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.
Coronation Street’s Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) has a decision to make about his relationship with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney).
This week, focus for the couple has been on how Debbie’s dementia diagnosis has impacted her and Ronnie’s sex life.
On a couple of occasions, Debbie made it clear that she wanted to be intimate with Ronnie, but he didn’t want to. Confused, Debbie eventually learnt that Ronnie feared her suffering a memory lapse while they were doing something together.
Her confidence low, Debbie searched for an ego boost by telling a stranger at the hotel that her husband no longer fancies her. Back at the flat, she had a big argument with Ronnie, but it ended when he blurted out that this version of Debbie isn’t the one he fell in love with.

As Ronnie pondered over how to clear the air with Debbie in today’s episode, she was at the hotel, interacting with a woman called Paula.
Debbie met Paula when she was in prison earlier this year. Now out of the slammer herself, Paula got to work on a scam by taking advantage of Debbie’s dementia.
The troublesome woman managed to steal Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) engagement ring for Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) thanks to some sly moves and Debbie’s memory troubles.
Frustrated that his proposal hadn’t gone to plan, and a very expensive ring was now missing, Adam couldn’t help but unleash a few harsh words in Debbie’s direction.
Fortunately, things came to an end when Ronnie swooped in.
His arrival at the hotel gave him some time to talk with Debbie.
Alone, Debbie said to Ronnie that if he wants to walk away from the relationship, then he can. She spelled out that her dementia is only going to get worse and if he cannot handle it, he needs to leave.
Ronnie looked completely torn.
Which path will he choose?
