The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has launched an investigation into alleged irregularities in the Combined Competitive Examination 2023 (CCE-2023), summoning Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) officials with examination records.
According to a NAB spokesperson, the bureau issued the notice under Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, after receiving a credible complaint alleging corruption and corrupt practices.
The SPSC secretary has been directed to nominate an officer of at least BPS-18, familiar with the relevant rules, to appear before NAB’s Combined Investigation Team in Karachi on October 20, 2026.
NAB has sought certified copies of eligibility and quota rules, recruitment advertisements, and the examination results announced on February 2, 2026.
The commission must also provide cadre-wise vacancy details, quota calculations, and records of candidates who passed the screening and written examinations.
Investigators have requested the rules and calculations used to determine merit and post allocations, alongside interview panel details, candidate assessment sheets, interview video recordings, and appointment records.
Separate files must be submitted for each candidate who appeared in the written examination and qualified for an interview.
The notice warns that deliberate noncompliance could be treated as obstruction of the inquiry, attracting prosecution under Section 31 of the ordinance, which carries a maximum prison term of 10 years.
The allegations remain under investigation.
