The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) says it contained a commercial fire outbreak at Dunkwa Gridco on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The fire workers saved 12 wooden stores and four metal containers with support from a water tanker provided by the Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly.
The fire destroyed eight wooden structures, two metal-container shops and personal belongings.
No casualties were recorded, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, the Fire Service reported.

In another development, the Ghana National Fire Service also contained a trailer fire at Boadua in the Denkyembour District on Friday, October 16.
A five-member crew led by District Second-in-Command, ADO I George Quashie, responded promptly and extinguished the fire completely at 0740 hours, with bystanders having partially controlled the blaze before their arrival.
Following the operation, firefighters educated the driver and the public on vehicle fire safety, emphasising the need to keep functional fire extinguishers in vehicles for quick response during emergencies.
