Prohibitory orders under Section 163 (1) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) have been promulgated in Sivaganga district from October 20 to 31 in connection with the memorial day of freedom fighters Marudhu brothers.
The memorial day of freedom fighters Maruhdu brothers is being observed as a government event on October 24 at their memorial hall in Tirupattur, Sivaganga district. Further, on October 27, the memorial day is observed by community organisations at the Marudhu brothers’ memorial in Kalaiyarkovil.
Subsequently, the Muthuramalinga Thevar Jayanthi and Guru Pooja will be held on October 30 at Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district. In view of this, based on the recommendation of District Superintendent of Police Abhishek Gupta, District Collector P. Akash has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 (1) (formerly Section 144 under the previous law) in Sivaganga district from October 20 to October 31.
