Home services marketplace Urban Company reported a 41% year-on-year growth in operating revenue in Q2 FY27. However, its losses widened threefold as the company continued to invest in its quick home services platform InstaHelp, which alone reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of Rs 174 crore during the quarter.
Urban Company's revenue from operations rose to Rs 527 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 380 crore in the same quarter last year, according to its unaudited financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Urban Company's India Consumer Services business, excluding InstaHelp, remained its largest revenue contributor, accounting for over 62% of operating revenue. The segment's revenue grew 28% year-on-year to Rs 336.4 crore in Q2 FY27.
Its Native brands business recorded a 40% year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 105.4 crore, compared with Rs 75.4 crore in the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, the international business grew 82% to Rs 75 crore.
InstaHelp, Urban Company's quick-service housekeeping vertical, generated Rs 20.37 crore in revenue, up 82% quarter-on-quarter, on 6.2 million orders in Q2 FY27. This translated to an average revenue of nearly Rs 33 per order.
However, net order value declined to Rs 114 from Rs 138 in the previous quarter amid intense competition and introductory prices for new users. The platform's adjusted EBITDA loss per order improved to Rs 279 in Q2 FY27 from Rs 346 in Q1.
Urban Company's employee benefits expenses rose 60% year-on-year to Rs 182 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with Rs 114 crore in the year-ago quarter. The company's overall expenses increased 62% to Rs 746 crore during the quarter.
As expenses grew faster than revenue and heavy investments in InstaHelp continued, Urban Company's losses ballooned threefold year-on-year to Rs 182 crore in Q2 FY27. However, its core India Consumer Services business remained EBITDA profitable.
The losses highlight the cash-intensive nature of the quick home services segment, where platforms are spending heavily to scale. Snabbit, a rival in the space, reported Rs 12.25 crore in operating revenue and a Rs 168 crore net loss in FY26. It said its daily jobs grew 75X during the year, while Pronto also continued to expand.
At the end of Friday’s trading session, Urban Company’s shares closed 2.47% higher at Rs 158.12 compared with the previous closing price, taking the company’s total market capitalisation to Rs 24,385 crore ($2.56 billion).
