Jakarta (ANTARA) - The South Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (PPKUKM) has announced that three Red and White Cooperative (Koperasi Merah Putih) outlets have been established in the area and are operating in accordance with established standards.
Head of the South Jakarta PPKUKM Djaharuddin said the three outlets are located in Cipedak, Bintaro, and Petukangan Utara.
“To support smooth operations and ensure stock availability, we are coordinating with PT Agrinas and other state-owned enterprises (BUMN) to distribute goods to the cooperatives,” he said in Jakarta on Friday.
In addition to ensuring the availability of goods, the initiative also involves micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) located near the outlets as part of a strategy to strengthen the local economy.
The cooperatives are expected not only to meet residents’ needs but also to create opportunities for local MSMEs to market their products through the outlets.
Djaharuddin expressed hope that the cooperatives would continue to expand and eventually operate in every sub-district in South Jakarta, supporting the President’s priority programs.
“As supervisors, we hope they will continue to grow and operate across all sub-districts, contributing to the success of the President’s priority programs. We also expect the cooperatives’ stock to prioritize local MSME products and provide them with dedicated space,” he said.
Going forward, the cooperative development initiative is intended to expand service coverage while giving local MSMEs greater opportunities to contribute to the supply chain for essential goods.
