Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called on the Taliban to take specific and practical action against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other terrorist groups.
Dar said on Monday, October 12, that the Taliban must take concrete, verifiable, and irreversible steps against these groups.
He made the remarks at an international conference hosted by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI).
Dar stressed that Afghan territory must not be used to launch terrorist attacks against Pakistan or other countries.
Pakistan’s foreign minister also accused India of supporting terrorist groups operating against Pakistan, including groups that he claimed operate from Afghan territory.
Ishaq Dar said this support poses a serious threat to regional peace, stability and security.
This comes as Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar had previously claimed that more than 20,000 terrorists, including over 6,000 members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, have taken refuge in Afghanistan.
