ISLAMABAD, October 17. /TASS/. The armed forces of Pakistan used heavy weaponry in response to fire from the Afghan side of the border, the Islamic republic’s state-run RTV television reported.
"The armed forces of Pakistan gave an efficient response with the use of heavy weaponry, responding to an unprovoked fire that Afghan Taliban members opened in the Kurram sector," the television wrote on the X social network.
The report says a number of fortifications were destroyed on the Afghan side.
Afghanistan’s TOLO News television channel reported earlier in the day, citing a security source, that armed clashes had broken out on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan with at least seven Pakistani servicemen killed and six wounded.
