The Kansas City Chiefs have announced several roster moves ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL team has signed running back Jaydn Ott to the active roster, activated linebacker Cooper McDonald, and elevated wide receiver Justin Watson from the practice squad.
Kansas City also placed running back Brashard Smith on injured reserve. The moves come as the undefeated Chiefs prepare for a challenging road test at Lumen Field.

McDonald’s activation is another important development for the defense. In a separate update, the Chiefs confirmed that the linebacker’s game status had been removed after he was signed to the active roster. He is no longer listed as questionable.
The team also provided an update on cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. He will not travel with the team initially for personal reasons but is expected to meet the squad in Seattle.
Sneed remains questionable for Sunday’s game because of a knee injury. His availability could be significant as Kansas City prepares to face the Seahawks’ offense.

Chiefs aim to protect their perfect start
Kansas City enters Week 7 with a 5-0 record after winning its first five games of the 2026 season. The Chiefs are looking to maintain that momentum following a strong performance against the Los Angeles Chargers.
They defeated the Chargers 22-6 in Week 6, with their defense helping secure another convincing victory. Patrick Mahomes has also guided the offense efficiently since returning from last season’s knee injury.
“Last year to me put football in perspective,” Mahomes said. “We played in so many Super Bowls, and even last year when stuff wasn’t going right, it was like, ‘We’re going to figure it out and make it happen.'”
The Chiefs have benefited from a productive ground game led by Kenneth Walker III, who joined the team during the offseason. His performances have helped balance the offense and reduce pressure on Mahomes.

Kansas City now faces a 3-3 Seattle team on Sunday Night Football. The matchup presents another test for the Chiefs as they attempt to extend their unbeaten run.
With several roster changes confirmed, Kansas City will hope its added depth helps maintain its early-season success.
