Loke warns underperforming DAP lawmakers may lose GE16 candidacy
IPOH: DAP elected representatives who fail to deliver for their constituents risk being dropped as candidates in the next general election, party secretary-general Anthony Loke said.
He said the party would not hesitate to replace underperforming representatives, with a nationwide monitoring system assessing their constituency service, grassroots engagement and participation in party activities.

“If they fail to meet their KPIs, they will not receive a nomination letter to contest in the next election,” he was quoted as saying in media reports after opening the 24th Perak DAP Convention at the Ipoh Convention Centre today.
Loke said the evaluation system was intended to ensure elected representatives remained accountable to voters and did not take their positions for granted.
He said the key performance indicators (KPIs) covered community service, constituency work, party activities, organisational development and, most importantly, representatives’ presence on the ground.
“If their performance is unsatisfactory, the likelihood of them being dropped as candidates will be higher,” he told reporters after the convention.
Loke said the monitoring system applied to DAP representatives nationwide, although individual states used different methods to assess their performance.
He singled out Perak DAP, led by state chairman Nga Kor Ming, for adopting particularly stringent monitoring measures.
“I believe the system we have implemented has been very effective. Perak DAP is very active on the ground, and our elected representatives are working continuously,” he said.
He added that the system placed ongoing pressure on representatives to fulfil their responsibilities and address any shortcomings.
“If anyone is less active, we will ensure that changes are made,” he said.
Meanwhile, Loke confirmed that seat allocations among Pakatan Harapan component parties for the upcoming Melaka state election had been finalised at the state level.
