NFR honours 35 Swachhata Doots

MALIGAON, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) felicitated 35 Swachhata Doots at its headquarters in Maligaon, Guwahati, on October 13 as part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, recognising their contributions to cleanliness and hygiene. Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, NFR, Uttam Prakash, led the programme and distributed cloth bags among the Swachhata Doots to encourage the use of reusable alternatives to polythene bags and reduce plastic waste.The programme was attended by Chief Workshop Engineer Parth Pratim Roy, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer (Coaching) S C Prasad, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer (Freight) Bhaben Nath, Chief Mechanical Engineer (Planning) Kapil Jambhulkar, Chief Mechanical Engineer (EnHM) M Kalimuthu and Chief Motive Power Engineer (Diesel) Shivaji N Kadam, among other officials.NFR is organising various activities during Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness and the participation of railway personnel in maintaining hygienic railway premises. The initiatives aim to encourage sustainable practices, responsible waste management and collective efforts towards a cleaner railway environment.
