A total of Rs. 50 million has been allocated to develop 100 selected temples and religious sites in the Badulla District under the “Sasunodaya” programme, aimed at developing religious institutions across the Uva Province.
The allocation was formally presented at an event held at the Bandarawela Municipal Council auditorium on October 23, as part of a wider Rs. 100 million funding programme for the province.
The event was held under the patronage of Minister of Plantation Community Infrastructure Samantha Vidyarathna and Uva Province Governor Kapila Jayasekara.
Organisers said the programme, implemented with government support to promote the Budda Sasana, would continue across the Uva Province in the coming years. (Newswire)
