Why Alexander Volkanovski Will Win
Alexander Volkanovski holds a distinct advantage in championship experience and striking volume heading into this five-round main event. His elite jab and punishing calf kicks allow him to dictate distance and disrupt the entries of pressure grapplers from the opening bell.
Defensively, the champion possesses exceptional hip dexterity and balance that make holding him on the canvas nearly impossible for extended stretches. Even when taken down, he consistently builds his base along the fence, breaks wrist control, and forces scrambles back to his feet.
Over twenty-five minutes, Movsar Evloev lacks the one-punch knockout power or submission finishing rate needed to keep the champion honest on the feet. This allows Volkanovski to feint aggressively, mix up his levels, and outland the challenger by a wide margin in the stand-up exchanges.
As the championship rounds arrive, constant leg kicks will sap the mobility and explosive double-leg entries of the undefeated contender. Volkanovski will stuff the late takedown attempts, punish the body in the clinch, and cruise to a clear decision victory to retain his belt.
Why Movsar Evloev Will Win
Movsar Evloev brings an undefeated record and relentless chain-wrestling pressure that has overwhelmed every opponent he has faced so far. At thirty-two years old, he enters his athletic prime with a six-year youth advantage over the defending featherweight champion.
His ability to seamlessly blend crisp boxing combinations into reactive takedowns makes his level changes exceptionally difficult to time. Even if his initial shot is stuffed, he excels at chaining together body locks, trips, and knee taps along the cage wall.
Evloev does not need to chase a finish to win minutes; his suffocating top control and heavy hip pressure consistently drain the gas tank of his foes. By forcing prolonged clinches and mat returns, he can neutralize the kicking game and outside footwork of Alexander Volkanovski.
In a five-round battle of attrition, the challenger has the cardiovascular conditioning to match the legendary pace of the champion. By banking early rounds with timely takedowns and smothering top rides, Evloev can edge out a competitive decision to claim the title.
Final Alexander Volkanovski-Movsar Evloev Prediction & Pick
This featherweight title clash represents the ultimate test of elite anti-grappling against relentless, undefeated wrestling pressure. Alexander Volkanovski will immediately look to establish his jab and batter the lead leg of Movsar Evloev to slow down his explosive entries.
Evloev will inevitably find success closing the distance and securing takedowns in the early rounds through sheer persistence and chain wrestling. However, his inability to lock down high-level scramblers or threaten with fight-ending submissions will allow the champion to repeatedly work back to his feet.
Once separated, Volkanovski carries a massive advantage in striking speed, volume, and shot selection at range. By the fourth and fifth rounds, cumulative damage to the legs and body will force the challenger into desperate, telegraphed shots from too far out.
Volkanovski will sprawl, land heavy counters on the break, and pull away on the scorecards down the stretch. The pick is Volkanovski by unanimous decision.
Final Alexander Volkanovski-Movsar Evloev Prediction & Pick: Alexander Volkanovski (-110), OVER 4.5 Rounds (-298)
