The Atlanta Dream will not play Games 3 and 4 of the WNBA Finals in the 3,500-seater Gateway Centre Arena, with the games officially being moved to the State Farm Arena.
State Farm Arena hosts over 17,000 fans and is the home for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, with many previously assuming that the Dream’s games would be hosted at that arena. However, that wasn’t the case immediately, as scheduling conflicts made the arena unavailable.
After massive fan backlash over the smaller venue, the Dream, NBA, WNBA and Hawks figured out a compromise to ensure the Finals receive the grand stage they deserve.
Dream WNBA Finals games moved to State Farm Arena after schedule adjustment
The Dream and Hawks announced that the WNBA moved Game 3 to October 21, a day earlier than scheduled, while Game 4 was moved to 1:00 p.m. on October 24 to ensure the arena was available for the WNBA Finals.
The originally scheduled Game 3 on October 22 clashed with the concert by an artist named ‘SOMBR,’ while Game 4 was scheduled on the same date and time as the Hawks’ regular-season game against the Charlotte Hornets.
While the Dream and Aces will have one fewer rest day between Games 2 and 3, it’s an acceptable compromise to ensure that the WNBA Finals with one of the game’s biggest stars in Angel Reese are played at an appropriate stage.
WNBA fans are excited after Dream’s arena change

“League said we not missing out on this bread,” said another fan.
