Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Tuesday, October 13, appeared before the Kaduna State High Court for the continuation of proceedings in his alleged corruption case.
El-Rufai arrived at the court premises at about 11:50 a.m., ahead of the hearing scheduled for noon, according to reports.
Footage shared on X showed the former governor exchanging pleasantries with Isa Ashiru, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, before proceeding into the courtroom.
His appearance followed a directive by Justice Darius Khobo ordering the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which has custody of the former governor, to produce him for the resumed hearing.
The proceedings come amid ongoing legal disputes over El-Rufai’s detention and his efforts to secure bail in the Kaduna State case.
The Court of Appeal recently dismissed his challenge to the lower court’s refusal to grant him bail, leaving the decision in place.

El-Rufai has also been involved in a separate controversy surrounding a medical report reportedly submitted in support of his request for release.
Charges Against El-Rufai
The former governor is facing allegations of corruption, financial fraud, abuse of office and money laundering in proceedings initiated by the ICPC.
The allegations relate to claims of financial misconduct during his tenure as governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023.
The case remains before the court, where the allegations are subject to judicial determination.
