BARNSLEY head coach Daniel Stendel says that recent signing Daniel Johnson could be involved in Saturday's League One home game with Cambridge United.
The former Preston North End and Stoke City winger, 34, has linked up with the Reds for the rest of the season after impressing on trial.
Johnson did not train on Wednesday due to an injury niggle picked up on Monday, but the Jamaican international will be assessed ahead of the match against the U's - with a view to possible involvement if things go well.
Confirming that the club have received international clearance, Stendel said: "He's ready to play from the official side.

"But he couldn't train yesterday. after a little injury on Monday. We will see tomorrow if he's fit to be in the squad.
"He trained the last three weeks with us and showed me and us as a team what everybody knows - he brings a lot of quality and experience in the group. He's really good with talking with the young players.
"I think, especially in the situation that we are at the moment, it would be good for us that we have a player who he takes responsibility. "And also, he knows a situation like this and he can help them (team-mates) to sort out the things, not only in training but we hope - maybe on Saturday or in next week in the games - that he stays calm."
Tyese Noslin and Connor O'Riordan are available for the weekend after receiving treatment for minor blows to the head in last weekend's loss at Stockport County, which extended the Reds' run without a win in all competitions to seven matches.

Loanee Makenzie Kirk, who missed the trip to Edgeley Park with illness, is back in training, but Ben Hamed Toure, who was not involved against County due to compassionate reasons, again won't be involved this weekend.
Providing an injury update, Stendel, who also confirmed that loan keeper Cieran Slicker is closing in on a return - although Saturday might be too soon for his return - said: "Both (Noslin and O'Riordan) are okay.
"Makenzie Kirk restarted yesterday, back in training after his illness last week.
"We will have a look at how he feels tomorrow. Ben Hamed is still not available."
On whether he could return next week, Stendel added: "It's really difficult to say yes or no. It's private."
On Thursday afternoon, Barnsley announced the signing of former Watford striker Tobi Adeyemo on an initial one-year deal.
The 21-year-old, who had a loan spell at League Two outfit Crawley Town earlier this year, left the Hornets in May when his contract expired. He had been on trial at Oakwell.
The London-born player made his Watford debut as a teenager in January 2023 and spent loan spells at non-league outfits Hitchin Town and Wealdstone during his time at Vicarage Road.
