Two cars belonging to former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League Noon (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif were targeted by vandals in London, with windows broken and sections of glass reportedly stolen.
A Sharif family spokesperson told reporters that the damage occurred two days before the report, describing it as the third incident involving Nawaz’s vehicles in the British capital.
Metropolitan Police have reportedly secured CCTV recordings of two masked young men removing glass from the cars. No arrests have been confirmed, while the suspects’ identities and the motive remain unknown.
The incident comes as Nawaz stays at the family’s Avenfield Apartments during a visit that includes medical appointments.
Although the spokesperson cited two previous incidents involving his vehicles, it remains unclear which cases the family was referring to.
The Sharifs have faced security concerns in London before. In 2021, four unidentified men allegedly tried to enter Hassan Nawaz’s office while the former prime minister was present. The matter was reported to police.
Earlier this year, the British authorities had warned family members of a potential violent attack following intelligence received by police. No link has been established between that warning and the latest vandalism.
