The Indian Army will organise a five-day Agniveer recruitment rally at the Dasharath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat, Agartala, from October 13 to 17, under the supervision of the Army Recruiting Office (ARO), Silchar, with support from the local civil administration and various Army units.
A record 4,885 candidates have registered for this year's recruitment process, marking a 92 per cent increase over the previous year. Of them, 1,203 candidates have been shortlisted to participate in the rally, representing a 62 per cent increase compared to last year, according to a press release.
Candidates from all districts of Tripura will undergo physical fitness tests, medical examinations and verification of required documents during the recruitment drive.
The physical fitness tests will include a 1.6-kilometre run, pull-ups, a nine-foot ditch crossing and a zigzag balance test. Candidates will subsequently undergo physical measurements.
The Army has already informed the shortlisted candidates through their registered email addresses and issued the necessary admit cards for participation in this stage of the recruitment process.
The Indian Army reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and merit-based recruitment process under the Agnipath scheme. All shortlisted candidates are required to report to the Dasharath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat to participate in the second phase of recruitment.
The civil administration in Agartala and personnel of the Red Shield Division have made the necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the rally.
