Minister and MLA Pangin-Boleng Ojing Tasing, visited the PFR drilling site at Beging on Wednesday afternoon to assess the extent of previously sustained damage to the project camp.
He was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner (East) Amjad Tak and OSD Hydropower Sagar Singh Kalsi.
The Minister said such on-site assessments are essential to ascertain ground realities, identify areas of concern and ensure that necessary remedial measures are undertaken with urgency and due diligence.
Stating that the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project is a project of immense national importance and strategic significance, Tasing said it holds the potential to usher in a new era of development and opportunities for the region.
He further said that as the government moves forward, its approach remains firmly anchored in the aspirations, concerns and well-being of the people, adding that development must not merely be for the people, but with the people, taking them along at every step of the journey.
