Tripoli Chamber of Commerce reported yesterday that its Chairman, Anwar Abu Sitta, received Grzegorz Olzak, Acting Chargé d’affaires of Poland to Libya, at the Chamber’s Tripoli headquarters.
Tripoli Chamber said the meeting took place within the framework of strengthening economic and commercial relations between the private sectors of both nations and revitalizing cooperation between Libyan and Polish business communities.
The discussion explored prospects for economic and commercial cooperation, as well as ways to open new avenues for partnership between the private sectors of both countries. This is intended to boost trade exchange and leverage investment opportunities available in both the Libyan and Polish markets.
Polish trade delegation to visit Libya at the earliest possible opportunity
Furthermore, the two sides discussed arrangements for an official Polish trade delegation to visit Libya at the earliest possible opportunity. This move aims to reactivate commercial ties—marking the first such official Polish trade delegation visit to Libya in approximately twenty years—thereby paving the way for a new phase of economic cooperation and creating broader horizons for business owners and investors.
Reciprocal visit by a delegation of Libyan businesspeople to Poland discussed
In the same context, the possibility of organizing a reciprocal visit by a delegation of Libyan businesspeople to Poland—following the Polish delegation’s visit—was also discussed. The objective is to foster direct communication between companies, explore opportunities for cooperation and investment, and build sustainable commercial partnerships between the two sides.
Establishing a joint Libyan-Polish Chamber of Commerce
The meeting also addressed the importance of establishing a joint Libyan-Polish Chamber of Commerce—in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the General Union of Chambers of Commerce—to serve as an institutional framework that fosters communication between business owners in both countries. This initiative aims to coordinate economic and commercial endeavours, facilitate the formation of partnerships, and enable the exchange of information regarding available investment opportunities.
Tripoli Chamber of Commerce said this meeting is part of its efforts to expand its international relations and strengthen cooperation with diplomatic missions and business institutions. Such efforts are intended to support the private sector, open new avenues for trade and investment, contribute to the diversification of the national economy, and bolster Libya’s economic ties with friendly nations.
