CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Duke football quarterback Walker Eget exited the first quarter of the Blue Devils game at Virginia on Friday, Oct. 23.
The sixth-year quarterback did not reenter the game after Duke's opening possession. He went into the injury tent at end of the drive after his hand hit the hand of a UVA defender.
In his place, redshirt freshman Dan Mahan entered the game under center for the Blue Devils.
Eget went 2-of-2 on Duke's first drive, including a 35-yard pass to Jonah Burton to break into Virginia territory. Nate Sheppard ran it in on Duke's next play to give Duke the 7-0 lead. The Blue Devils took just four plays to get 78 yards and find the end zone.
