National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said the 29-year-old was arrested on October 19 at the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court, where he had appeared in connection with a separate matter.
Mahanjana said the incident occurred in the early hours of August 2, 2026, when Madubanya was performing at Propaganda Night Club in Pretoria Central.
The Lekompo artist allegedly assaulted a male complainant by hitting him several times with an empty bottle crate.

Following police investigations, Madubanya was arrested on Monday.
His case was postponed to October 27 for him to obtain legal representation and for bail investigations to be conducted.
