In a retaliatory move, Boxing Federation of India (BFI) president Ajay Singh has suspended secretary general Pramod Kumar, who earlier moved a no-confidence motion against the federation chief, on various grounds.
In a letter issued on Tuesday, Ajay said several enquiries are pending against Pramod, who was earlier served a show-cause notice, “with respect to various acts and financial decisions taken by him.”
“Apart from the lack of cooperation, attempts have been made to destabilise the organisation by issuing directions and notices without authority, intimidate and malign senior officials of the BFI and circulate unsubstantiated allegations across the media,” said the letter.
Ajay barred Pramod from exercising all powers and relieved him from all BFI panels.
In his response, Pramod said, “Ajay Singh cannot suspend me as a no-confidence motion has been moved against him. The general house will decide his fate on October 28. We have the support of 28 associations and we will stop his dictatorship.”
