Early results tonight show incumbent Linda Buchanan has been re-elected in the 2026 civic election, securing a third term as the mayor of the City of North Vancouver.
As of the time of writing at 10:20 p.m., Buchanan has secured 6,056 votes, coming ahead of Mike McGraw’s 5,163 votes and Dave Kurvers’ 1,602 votes.
Linda was first elected as mayor in 2018. Prior to becoming mayor, she was a city councillor in the jurisdiction from 2011 to 2018.
Her mayoral platform focused on expanding housing options, improving transportation, and making childcare and essential services more affordable and accessible.
She pledged to pursue provincial and federal funding for major infrastructure, particularly rapid transit to the North Shore, while advancing the Lonsdale Great Street project, the Health Innovation District, and planning for the redevelopment of the former ICBC headquarters above the Lonsdale bus exchange.
Her campaign also emphasized supporting local businesses, improving parks and public spaces, and protecting the natural environment. On regional spending, Buchanan highlighted her advocacy for taxpayers, including calls for a public inquiry into cost overruns at the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant project of Metro Vancouver Regional District.
