German Chancellor Friedrich Merz received Czech President Petr Pavel in Berlin on Wednesday for talks on bilateral relations, foreign policy and security. The two leaders met privately at the Chancellery.
Pavel is in the German capital on a two-day working visit. On Wednesday evening, he took part in a round-table discussion hosted by the German Council on Foreign Relations, which brings together experts, academics and journalists.
On Thursday, Pavel is due to speak at the Berlin Global Dialogue conference, which focuses on the links between politics, business and geopolitics. He last visited Berlin in July last year, when he met German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
