President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kaduna State for the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu arrived in Kaduna on Saturday and was received at the airport by senior government officials, security chiefs and APC leaders.
Among those who welcomed the President were the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, and the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
The President’s visit is expected to feature the commissioning of selected projects as well as engagements with political leaders and other stakeholders in the state.
The Kaduna event marks the formal commencement of the APC’s nationwide campaign for Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
The campaign comes as the ruling party faces a competitive opposition field, with Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other presidential contenders expected to challenge Tinubu at the polls.
The APC has mobilised its national and state structures for the campaign, with Kaduna serving as the launch venue for its efforts to retain the presidency in 2027.
