KINGSTON, Jamaica — Defending champions Mt Pleasant FA qualified for consecutive finals of the Concacaf Club Championships after winning the semi-final return leg against Club Sando of Trinidad 2-0 at Sabina Park on Thursday for a 3-1 aggregate. Second-half goals from Warner Brown and Nickalia Fuller made amends for a first-half penalty miss by Trayvon Reid, his second in the series, as Mt Pleasant FA set up a match-up with the winner of the other semi-final where Portmore leads Violette of Haiti 3-1. The Jamaican team held the advantage coming into the game as they away goal in the 1-1 draw in Trinidad a week earlier gave them the edge. Reid should have given them the lead in the 36th minute after Kyle Ming was fouled in the Sando penalty area, but the striker, who repeated his long, slow run up from last week, saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Teshaun Ragoo. He however made some amends by providing the pass that led to Brown’s opening goal in the 57th minute to give them the lead in the game and on aggregate. The failure by Mt Pleasant’s goalkeeper Shaquan Davis to hold on to a ball in the 60th minute, almost led to an equalising goal but Luke Philip fired over the crossbar. Sando had another chance to score five minutes later but Davis was equal to Jaron Pascal’s shot from about three yards out. Fuller, who replaced Brown in the line-up, killed off the game in time added when he fired past Ragoo from about 20 yards out. — Paul A Reid
