Organisers of the Simply You Magazine Lifestyle and Fashion Awards have unveiled this year’s theme, ‘Rooted in Namibia, Styled for the World’, as preparations gather momentum for the 2026 edition of the annual awards set to take place on Saturday.
The theme reflects the growing ambition and talent within the local creative sector, highlighting the potential of Namibian stories, fashion, and culture to make a lasting mark beyond domestic borders.
According to the event organisers, the local creative sector is experiencing steady growth, with an increasing number of designers, models, photographers, stylists, media personalities, and beauty professionals building sustainable independent careers.
The awards aim to recognise this ongoing development while providing a platform that reflects the calibre of local talent.
This year’s edition promises an elevated experience, featuring a red-carpet showcase, high-end event styling, strong visual branding, live performances, and a dynamic production schedule designed to engage attendees throughout the evening.
Organisers emphasise that the event will blend local cultural identity with international presentation standards.
“Fashion is at the heart of [the awards], so it would not make sense to have an awards platform celebrating fashion without creating opportunities for our local fashion ecosystem to be part of the experience,” the team notes.
Local designers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, and photographers will play an active role in shaping the visual identity of the event, ensuring that the red carpet serves as a direct showcase of Namibian creativity.
The 2026 edition features 17 award categories covering diverse sectors.
Nominees were selected based on their consistency, visibility, professional output, and contributions to their respective fields.
Public participation remains a central component of the process. Each nominee has been assigned a unique voting code, allowing members of the public to support their preferred candidates via SMS.
Beyond the trophies, organisers highlighted the long-term objective of the platform fostering meaningful networking and commercial partnerships.
The awards aim to serve as a bridge connecting creatives with corporate brands, media outlets, and prospective industry collaborators.
Following the awards ceremony, Simply You Magazine will continue spotlighting nominees and winners across its print publication, digital channels, and social media platforms.
The post-event coverage will focus on detailing the journeys, businesses, and future projects of local creative figures.
Organisers hope the event leaves attendees and the broader creative community inspired, confident, and reassured of the value of Namibian creative expression.
