Janata Dal (United) has cancelled the primary membership of party leader Anant Kumar Singh, with immediate effect and expelled him from the party for six years for his alleged anti party activities and disregard for party directives.
The order came after Singh allegedly campaigned in favor of the opposing party and against JD(U)'s candidate in the recently concluded Legislative Council elections.
Anant Kumar Singh is the party’s Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mokama, Bihar.
The decision was taken by JD(U) Provincial President Umesh Singh Khushwaha.
The Party also cancelled the primary membership of former MLA Neelam Devi over her alleged involvement in anti-party activities and expelled her for six years.
According to ANI, the party has also recommended to the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly that Singh’s membership as an MLA be cancelled under the Tenth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
