In the summer, Juventus was keen to sign Nicolas Tagliafico, and he was expected to be one of the last players to join their team in that window. The men at the Allianz Stadium have done their best to ensure that the team is good enough to compete, but we can tell that they need more good players.
Tagliafico is a very experienced left-back who can come on and do well for the Bianconeri, as he has played at a top club like Ajax and won the World Cup with Argentina. He will arrive with a lot of experience, and that could be very useful to Juventus as the Old Lady looks to ensure that the team is in fine shape in all spots.
Why the Move Collapsed
Failing to sell Juan Cabal last summer is the reason Juve did not complete a move for Tagliafico, but Tuttojuve says they have reignited their interest in him now and the Bianconeri may not wait for Cabal to leave before they sign the Lyon man in January. The club’s need for depth in that position remains, and the Argentine fits the profile.
The failure to offload Cabal was a setback, but it has not diminished Juventus’s interest, and the club may now act regardless. Tagliafico’s experience would be a valuable addition, and the defender’s quality is not in doubt.

A Deal That Could Happen in January
He is open to the move and had been hopeful of making the transfer in the summer, with Lyon also reportedly keen to allow him to leave at the right price, even if it means an initial loan deal. The player’s willingness to join is clear, and the club’s interest has not gone away.
Lyon’s openness to a loan deal could make things easier, and Juventus will hope to strike an agreement. The defender’s experience at the highest level would be a boost, and the fans would welcome the addition.
