A warden of a backward classes welfare hostel in Periyakulam in Theni district on Thursday collapsed and died during an inspection.
Velmurugan served as the warden of the backward classes welfare hostel on Sothupparai road in Periyakulam. On Thursday evening, Theni District Backward and Minorities Welfare Officer Sureshkumar visited the hostel for an inspection.
During the inspection Velmurugan suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to Periyakulam Government Headquarters Hospital. However, Velmurugan was declared dead.
