Michigan State and Michigan got together on Tuesday night in East Lansing at DeMartin Stadium for the annual Big Bear Trophy matchup. The matchup marks the 26th such matchup in the trophy series, with MSU leading the all-time series 15-5-5.
In the annual rivalry matchup, there was no winner, with the Spartans and Wolverines playing to a 1-1 draw. After the Spartans 2-1 win over Michigan in Ann Arbor a season ago, the tie means that Michigan State would retain the Big Bear Trophy.
A Leo Conneh goal at the 68:12 mark put the Spartans up 1-0, but Michigan countered with a penalty kick goal at 84:25 by Michael Ramirez. The game would end tied 1-1, with the Spartans retaining.
The draw puts Michigan State's record to 8-2-2 (4-1-1 B1G) on the season. They will be back in action on Friday in Columbus to take on Ohio State.
